Ups and Downs of Real Estate Markets

Blog by Charlie Mackenzie, Personal Real Estate Corporation | November 26th, 2008

It’s fair to say that the real estate market is catching a lot of headlines nowadays. And I am aware - as you probably are too, that the headlines haven’t been all that positive. With that said, I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that as a real estate professional who deals first hand with the ups and downs of the real estate market on a daily basis, I do still believe there is no better investment than real estate. Understandably, in light of the financial circumstances affecting the economy, real estate sales per unit are slowing down and prices have seen a decline. However, don’t be fooled. There are still plenty of buyers in the market. There will always be people who are interested in purchasing real estate for various reasons, such as a need to relocate, downsize, upsize, or on account of family circumstances.

In fact, one of my responses to the change in the market is actually to take the opportunity to expand my real estate services to include consultative advice. Construction and design have always interested me – it’s actually from this initial interest that I decided on a career in real estate. I am now beginning to offer free consultative services to people who are interested to learn how to make economical renovations to their home, condo or townhouse, that will bring lasting benefits. I am specifically targeting people are who are interested in doing the work themselves, but who require some advice on which renovations will provide the highest return on investment, and persons who may also need some input on how to actually go about doing the work themselves. If you or someone you know is interested in this type of service, please be in contact. At this time, my consultative services are free.

If you have questions or concerns in regards to your real estate holdings, or the market in general, please do not hesitate to call. I have plenty of opinions that I’d be happy to share!
